We understand that children learn in different ways. We are committed to catering to several different learning styles, and to providing many diverse opportunities in our classrooms, on our playgrounds, and in our curriculum , so that each child is touched by their individual experience at Wesleyan Preschool Academy. We realize the importance of serving families and recognizing the child's parents/guardians are the expert on their own child.
Jennifer grew up in a small town much like Kernersville, in the eastern coastal part of NC. She attended UNCG, earning her B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology with a concentration in Early Childhood Development and Early Intervention. She volunteered as a tutor for Kindergarten ESL students as well as with the Autism Society of NC throughout college.
She was the president of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association her junior and senior years at UNCG. Upon graduating, Jennifer took a job as a nanny for a family in Oak Ridge. That led to her being introduced to the former preschool director, and ultimately working here as the lead 2 yr old teacher since the school opened its doors in 2006. Jennifer stepped into the director position in June 2016.
She is passionate about early education and making learning FUN! She loves to interact with the students and feels it is important to have teachers who are warm, caring, and patient with children to foster an early love for school. The preschool is a ministry of the Kernersville Wesleyan Church, so not only do the students here at WPA particpate in daily academic activities, but benefit from our faith formation curriculum as well.
